I love animals, I am sure I’m not the only one here!
I’m in Singapore visiting Buddy my favourite Whippet pal. He is such a cutie with a very gentle curious demeanour. He is slightly twitchy and weary of people but he warms up slowly. I haven’t seen him in a while so I expect the cold treatment at the beginning but after day 2 I can see that little smile creeping into the edge of his mouth!
Buddy has been featured in my art. He is one of the Bulan animal farm characters. I generally don’t do random animals. They are mostly my friends pets I have met and become acquainted with.

Today’s sketch of the day is Harry the whippet. I met Harry last Sunday at a quirky little cafe called scooter bar in Waterloo, actually where ‘The Born Identity” was filmed. Harry wasn’t feeling so well, he was resting on a chair when i met him. Harry belongs to Mark. Mark, an interesting guy, makes handmade soaps in Wales. His company is called Laughing bird.
So to cut a story short, when Mark discovered that I am an illustrator, i was requested to do a sketch of Harry. I don’t just draw anybody’s pet. I have to genuinely like the animal. He is very sweet and gentle. So here he is. Harry giving me a nervous look.
