Horse pet portrait

I can’t wander but this horse sure can. 🐴

The wanderer horse pet portrait fashion makeover styled in Louis Vuitton FW21.

I’m not taking commissions for pet portraits at the moment. All previous commissions will be fulfilled. Thank you everyone who have been part of this series 💕

Portrait of girl #1

Sketch of the day no 1228 is of my first portrait of girl #1
I’m going to be switching to a different sketchbook using charcoals to practise some portraits which I started recently. I don’t normally draw people but I will try from now on. Practice, practice, practice.

Portrait of a man in charcoal

Portrait of a man in charcoal

I started my sketch a day in April 2013 and I decided from the onset that I will not draw people. In the 6 years I have done 5 bearded characters for Movember.
Now with charcoal, I have changed my mind and I have decided to start drawing people and figures because it’s been an area I have conciously stayed clear from. It’s not that I don’t find people interesting to draw but I feel it’s a subject that is really difficult to get right and that scares me.
My intention here, as with all my other sketches is to capture a feeling rather than a realistically perfect representation of the subject which my phone can do better than me. 📱

Sketch of the day no 1214 is of a portrait of man inspired by The exhibition of Don McCullin at the Tate Britain.

What do you think?

Don Mccullin photo exhibition runs until 6 May 2019 at Tate Britain, London.

Sketch of the day no 735 in my Daler Rowney art journal: Suleyman the Magnificient

Ottoman turkish empire: suleyman the magnificient
Today’s sketch is something I’ve been wanting to draw for a long time and finally here it is. Sketch of the day in my Daler Rowney art journal is of Suleyman the magnificent. I just love his outfit especially the headgear.

I learnt that only sultans wore the headgear and not any ordinary person.

Happy Monday! Sketch of the day no 732 in my Daler Rowney art journal: The Holy Man.

Sketch of the day no 712 in my Daler Rowney art journal: The social historian, Penang

Penang art

Sketch of the day in my Daler Rowney art journal is The social historian which is going to go to my moustache series of people.
This is actually based on a man from one of my favorite Penang photography books. Portraits of little india. He looks so old and wise which is why I named him the social historian.  Im sure if i could meet him he would know everything about Penang.

Sketch of the day no 708 in my daler rowney art journal: the funny photographer.

The funny photographer drawing

Sketch of the day in my Daler rowney art journal is a continuation of my bearded people series I started in Istanbul: the funny photographer from my hometown Penang.
