Malaysian Independence day

Blue and White Chinoiserie jar with Hibiscus

Wishing all my Malaysian friends Selamat Hari Merdeka for tomorrow.
The hibiscus flower or Bunga Raya is our beautiful national flower.

“The word bunga in Malay means “flower”, while raya in Malay means “celebratory” or “grand”. The Hibiscus rosa-sinensis is literally known as the “celebratory flower” in Malay. The red of the petals symbolizes the courage, life, and rapid growth of the Malaysian, and the five petals represent the five Rukun Negara of Malaysia. ” source Wikipedia

The 5 Rukun Malaysia or principles in order to achieve unity, democracy, equality, cultural diversity, and progress are:
BELIEF IN GOD
LOYALTY TO KING AND COUNTRY
SUPREMACY OF THE CONSTITUTION
RULE OF LAW
COURTESY AND MORALITY

It’s covid-19 lockdown day no 38/45 in Malaysia.
This week I’m dedicating flowers to the strong women in my life. I don’t thank my friends and family enough or tell them why they are important to me in my life, so I’m taking this opportunity during lockdown to remedy this 

Sketch of the day no 1348 in my moleskine sketchbook : white orchids for my beautiful and talented friend Abby

We became fast friends because i admire your independence, courage and strength right from the start.
I knew we would be great friends when we survived our adventure to Turkey. What an amazing trip!
Thank you for being my friend, art supporter and critic. I cherish our midnight chats about art and life when the world is sleeping. You inspire me to push my boundaries and step out of my comfort zone.  Love you Abby and i will be liquid fasting this ramadan because you asked me to ❤️

Stay home and stay safe xoxo
