Penang ferry

Sketch of the day in my moleskine art journal is a drawing of the iconic Penang ferry. This ferry is named Pulau Undan and it has been in service since 1975. I have great memories of using the ferry service as a child. It would be a highlight to go on it. The ferry was the only way out of Penang island. Today we have 2 bridges that connect the island to the mainland. The ferry is still in service because it takes passengers as well as vehicles across to the mainland which is called Butterworth (seberang prai). The crossing is short. It takes about 10 mins. This ferry has vehicles on the lower deck and passengers in the upper deck.
