I was so excited to meet my first wild Oriental pied hornbill a couple of weeks ago. It was surreal. I’ve been looking out for them for a long time and finally there they were just sitting at a table next to me.
So here we go, I had to sketch one.

Practice, practice, practice. That’s the only way to improve.
Drawing of kingfisher using a blue ball point pen. I’ve decided I quite like drawing with a blue pen. I think I’m going to continue with this. The colour just makes me happy 💙

The rooster 🐓 I ran out of ink during quarantine and started using a biro. What do you think of this new colour for my sketches?
Quarantine and draw. Thank god for my sketchbook and phone to keep my busy.
I just recovered from covid and being in quarantine for 7 days. Luckily I had my sketchbook to keep me busy and 3 other friends with covid in the same apt to keep me entertained. We’ve all been vaccinated and boosted. Thank god it was mild like catching a cold. Stay well my friends.
Travel and draw. I bring my moleskine sketchbook everywhere. Here is a recent getaway I made to pangkor laut resort. This was the beautiful view from my sea villa.
I see you…a quick drawing of an eye.
X Ray anatomy of my right hand with the plate visible. It’s been 2.5 months and my hand is healing 🙏
In Chinese culture, the pineapple symbolises wealth and luck.
That’s another reason to love them more 🍍
I almost forgot to draw these beautiful orchids. I had to Google them to remember the name. I call them cup orchids but they are actually Paphiopedilum, often called the Venus slipper. They look more like cups than slippers to me 🤭
