Happy Sunday. Who else loves blue and white ceramics? 💙
Sketch of the day no 1297 in my moleskine sketchbook is of a blue and white Japanese inbante Jubako box set with cranes, waves or watter patterns and a couple of sushi.

You “own” more with your sketches than if you had all your subjects in your possession. Your Moleskine books are your “Mémoire”. You should publish a selection some day.

Japan and China developed magnificent blue and white ceramic. The choice of colours was probably limited by technical reasons but the results are spectacular. I would love to have a few antiques of those… 🙂

I love blue and white ceramics.
There was a restaurant my dad and I once ate in quite often called The Blue Willow who used blue and white ceramic plates, cups and dishes that illustrated the ancient Chinese legend of the blue willow and two star-crossed lovers.
