Let blessings fall around you like blossoms ~ Rumi
Quick sketch in between puppy duties. I’m fostering a couple of puppies for a few months.
Another native fragrant flower mostly grown in temples and gardens because they are believed to bring wealth to the family. The plant is also used as natural anticipectic and anti inflammatory.
Sketch of the day no 1270 in my moleskine sketchbook is of a yellow magnolia champaca

Traditional wisdom is very often accurate. After all, aspirin comes from birch bark and had been known for centuries to calm fever and pain.

Many, many plants used in tradtional medicine the world over indeed “work”. My wife, as a chemist studies plants from the Mexican precolombian medicine to isolate the chemical compounds that may or may not work as antiseptic, antiinflamatory, whatever. Sometimes, no compounds are found. Sometimes, the traditional use is confirmed. And then a new drug can be developed. π
