I simply love the name of this tree. I think the name comes from the silhouette of the tree but I could be wrong 🤔

These trees are fairly common in Penang. They are easy to spot as well because they are tall and you can see the hanging pods from far.

That is an unusual name for a tree.
Maybe Edgar Allan Poe and H.P. Lovecraft grew these trees in their back yard.
As does Stephen King today.
