Mainly due to loss of habitat.

Some animals are difficult to capture straight on. It’s about finding the right angles.

I guess they managed to survive through the dinosaur age. They are one of the oldest animals.

Were they ever hunted for food, or is their decline due to loss of habitat? — YUR

Is it difficult to capture them straight on? I mean, looking the animal in the face? You did a great job, and I think this perspective would be hard to do.

The population numbers are definitely not being preserved. Without enough protected land for them, it’s hard to keep them from disappearing.

Cute animals. 🙂 Strange that there should be tapirs in South America too. But no elephants. I wonder why… (Another of my crazy questions). Be good Kawanku. Enjoy home.

Thy’re mentioned in those articles…perhaps one can discover if their population’s being preserved.

And no longer at Catskill Game Farm…I was sad when it closed down, a number of years ago! 😦

THERE USED TO BE SOMETHING CALLED THE “CATSKILL GAME FARM” IN NEW YORK STATE—I SAW ONE THERE. ARE THEY FOUND IN MORE THAN ONE AREA, IN THE WILD?
