Sketch of the day no 1228 is of my first portrait of girl #1
I’m going to be switching to a different sketchbook using charcoals to practise some portraits which I started recently. I don’t normally draw people but I will try from now on. Practice, practice, practice.

De rien mon amie. Well deserved. I know very people who question themselves the way you do. You already have a style and yet, you put everything aside to “work” portraits. Find something new inside you. π

Thank you so much as always for your kind words of encouragement. π

Haha. You are too hard on yourself. I’ve watched your videos… And crayons in particular are veeeery smudgeable. I bought some but put them away for a while, I’ll work pencil and watercolour which I feel more comfy with.
(And I love your new portraits series. You’re getting great results)

That is so organised. I’m all over the place and I smudge the drawing with my hands π

Selamat malam Kawanku. (If you’re still in the UK. Otherwise, selamat pagi)
i think everybody starts a drawing differently. I also tend do draw from left to right. Being right-handed, it allows me not to “mess” the pencil strokes…
A bientΓ΄t.

Nicely done. I have only ever done portraits in pastels. Good job on the eyes too π

Well done. π Yes, practice, practice.
Interesting: once the oval is drawn you start with the mouth.
I start with the eyes! (Maybe because the eyes are the most difficult for me)
(Practice, practice…)
Selamat malam kawanku.
