I’m currently revamping my website because I am running out of storage …please be patient if you encounter glitches and please do let me know.
I also need your help. ALL IDEAS on how to improve my website are most welcome. I’m still going to use the free templates so I have to work within the perimeters.
When I started this blog in 2008, exactly a decade ago, I had no idea it would take me here today. My first few posts were of activities that I felt like sharing and my travels. It was like entering a dark room and trying to manoeuvre my way around.
In 2009 my friend and I decided to get creative and start on an art journey. I did a few sketches of animals which ended up on bags that I sold to friends over Christmas. I carried on doing this for a couple of years until it dawned on me that this is not what I was cut out to do.
In 2013, Mariana from FloatingLemons.com challenged me to a sketch a day project. This was the turning point. I enjoyed the daily sketches so much that I still sketch to this day, except no longer daily.
My daily sketches gave me a sense of purpose and direction in my life which I needed.
Fast forward to today and I am proud of all that I have accomplished so far. A successful first solo art exhibition in the bag.
The hardest part was and is always the beginning. Every time I embark on a new project, panic and fear of failure sets in.
My goal this year is to move forward with confidence and faith that I will achieve what I set out to do. I know I will still have that voice of self doubt and fear in my head but I will do my best to silence them.
Thank you to all of you for holding my hand along this journey. For the encouragement when I was close to giving up, for cheering me up when I was down, for sharing in my joy and my success.
I am truly grateful. 🙏🌹❤️

Same here, loading rather slow – I nearly baled out. Lovely pictures when I finally got through 🙂

Thanks, Tiff. Unlike you, I rarely use original media, so it looks like I’m really safe! — YUR

It might take a while. I have to delete old photos first.

I appreciate it. Thank you. It might take a while!

Thank you Maria for your support ❤️
May 10, 2018 at 07:19
There’s a section in the media that tells you how much storage space you have left.
May 10, 2018 at 07:17
That’s really helpful. Thanx so much. I will investigate 👍👌❤️

Have confidence…your life and art are inspiring. You will know what to do.

It is. Good. (There are many things I wish I could clean up!) 😉
But cleaning old posts will be titanic since you post almost every day.
Had to do it last year, because I publish too many photos. And then I just took the upgrade. Not vey expensive. (Took the upgrade in Icloud and Dropbox too… Saved me time)

Another case of the “goldfish” memory? 🙂
Yes, I am sure your list is impressive. Use it to build on. ❤

I too have been posting daily for a little over ten years, Tiff. How will I know when I’m running out of storage??? — YUR

I was also running out of storage space and I was paying for the Premium plan. I called WordPress because I didn’t want to pay more for storage and I wasn’t interested in all the other features I would get at the next level. They told me about a free service that would allow me to add more photos. It’s working like a charm. Here’s the link: https://imgbb.com

Either way, it looks good!

I am sure that you will find a theme that you like M’lady. The most important thing is that you are happy with it no matter what others say. Good luck with your new ideas my friend. Ralph ❤

Thanx Brian. I am deleting all the old posts and photos because i am running out of storage. Cleaning up is good.

Yes you are wise. I am looking back at my achievements at the moment. I realised that i have achieved a lot but my memory fails me. Once i compile all the things I’ve done, it looks impressive.

Yes and how a whole decade flew by!

Thank you very much! I appreciate the support ❤️

Ya i think after letting this blog grow organically for a decade, and how time flies, a revamp is in order!
May 4, 2018 at 05:27
Ya me too! Mostly just cleaning up the old files 😂
May 4, 2018 at 00:26
Looking forward to what comes next.

Now, revamping? Your site. 🙂
I like it as it is. Maybe you want to look at other themes to play around. If I recall, there is an option in the menu, where you can select a “mock” new theme and see how it looks. Then go back.
You have short posts, so you may want to look at themes that display all your posts vertically? I would say try a few themes and follow your heart.
Bonne chance. (On the Life part) 🙂

Self-doubt is good. Only morons do not doubt. Self-doubt forces you to look critically at what you are doing and how you are doing it. And ask yourself: can I do it better? That is good. Obviously when self-doubt and fear overcome and paralyze you, then it’s time to stop. Where is the balance? I don’t know. It’s for everyone to place it. My suggestion: look back at your achievements. Without downplaying them. If success outnumbers failures, then you are on the right track.
😉

You are amazing Tiffany and have inspired me with your art – continue to grow and prosper! 🙂

What a great journey!
May 3, 2018 at 16:40
Congratulations. I’m happy for you. It’s healthy (and scary) to revamp sometimes.
May 3, 2018 at 16:09
Good point. Thanx! Will look into it.

Hello. Quick thought for your revamp. Ease of use. Sometimes when I try to jump around and view your different posts your pages load very slowly. Possibly test your next template for loading speed. Cheers. You do great work.
