Okay. According to one my French best friends (going back 30 years) the rooster is the only tutelar animal who proudly sings at the top of his lungs, his two feet firmly set in manure, in the farm yard. (The French exact word for manure would either be “fumier” or rather start with “mer” and end up with “de”. 🙂
