Today’s sketch of the day in my moleskine art journal is of a a botanical illustration of a pink lily cactus, Cactaceae Echinopsis mamillosa from Turkey.

But soft words can touch a hard heart,
So choose carefully how you decide to speak to others”

Sounds like Malaysia! Rains a lot too ⚡️⚡️💦💧☔️

Maybe that’s why I don’t love Mexico anymore. Rains too much. The rainy season now lasts six months or more. ☁️☁️⚡️☔️

👏👏

Nah. I don’t love London in that way. I know I always fall out of love with the city when the temperature drops and the rain arrives x

Yes, thats a very good point. We let so many happy activities lapse as we become adults, it’s a shame. Must have a go …. 🙂
June 14, 2015 at 04:36
Hmmm. Enjoy London meanwhile. And don’t leave your heart there. (Again) 😊
June 13, 2015 at 22:04
Yes you can do! I would be so happy if I inspired someone to take up drawing. We could all do it as children.
June 13, 2015 at 17:20
You make me want to try to draw! Now that would be seeing something. I may be safer sticking to photography. 😉
June 13, 2015 at 11:51
Yes next week ….
June 13, 2015 at 11:51
No not cheating. Being able to sieve through fluff 🌹
June 13, 2015 at 04:41
👍 when r u going home? Soon?
June 13, 2015 at 04:40
That’s cheating. Haha!
June 12, 2015 at 22:47
I chose the more important part! 😄
June 12, 2015 at 22:45
You are right, only sometimes and it has to be bad
June 11, 2015 at 16:23
Interesting. I thought you would have chosen the flower. But you took the less obvious choice. Good!
June 11, 2015 at 16:22
Haha! I’m sure it doesn’t happen so often. 👍
June 10, 2015 at 21:28
You’ve made my day better. Thank you! 🌷🌷
June 10, 2015 at 20:46
Fantastic sketch! 🙂 You are a great artist.
XOXO Julia ❤

When I’m incredibly silent when I’m with people, it’s because I have nothing nice to say 🙂
June 10, 2015 at 18:41
Ok it is totally me. I have a tough exterior but I’m not really!
June 10, 2015 at 18:20
Yep! My mother’s favourite retort when I would blurt out a 7-8 year-old kid comment. 7 is less than 10, but I’ve tried it several times. Mother’s orders. No dice! So I still blurt out silly comments!
Be good my friend.

There is a hint of self-projection there… Which do you identify most? The outwardly tough, spiky cactus (with a soft core) or the delicate, so elegant, red flower?
(Come on Brian! That’s a loaded question!)
🙂
June 10, 2015 at 14:11
Yes the perfect balance!
June 10, 2015 at 14:10
A bit like count to 10 before you speak?
June 8, 2015 at 22:38
Interesting how cacti are so… tough, and have such delicate flowers.
🙂

(An old saying)
June 7, 2015 at 21:23
Pleasure. 🙂
June 7, 2015 at 21:19
Thank you Charles x
June 7, 2015 at 21:11
Sometimes traditional is best, this is far better than hurting others, it is good to be reminded about the traditional, Thanks, 🙂
June 7, 2015 at 21:09
Pleasure, love the flowers and hearts, so here’s one for you ❤
June 7, 2015 at 21:06
Thank you Charles for the re log 🌷🌹💕
June 7, 2015 at 21:06
I believe it’s important to be positive and mindful. I guess I’m very traditional like that 💕🌹

Hope you’re enjoying London, what a wonderful picture, and an even greater saying, so good to here things like this, sometimes, we just go about things the wrong way; the hurtful way. Best wishes and blessings, Charles. ❤ 🙂
