Since it’s Eid today, and on the theme of Islam, today I decided to sketch an Izmik plate. I really love the floral pattern on this one. I do love islamic designs in particular the floral ones such as this and the geometric patterns.
I didnt know that gambling has the highest suicide rate. You sound like you have been through and still going through a lot! You are one brave lady! Stay positive. And this may sound like a real cliche but I believe that what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. And you being here sharing your story is probably what god intended you to do. To help others who may be going through similar experiences as yourself and have no where and no one to turn to. x
Wow….I sure can identify with HIM! It is at times like *PULLING TEETH” to have others have insight and understanding about Gambling Addiction. It has SO MUCH *Stigma* around this illness…..I know now that one of my mental illness disorders was a direct effect from my gambling addiction, as it really twists our brain chemicals around Cognitive Behaviors, so I suffer from Panic with Agoraphobia, but also have had Bipolar 2 disorder as well, which my gambling brought out the Bipolar symptoms, as I suffered and went undiagnosed for most my life.
Many don’t KNOW that addicted gambling has the Highest Suicide Rate than any other Addiction, and it’s the Fastest growing addictions to date. I really appreciate your kind words and thoughts! AND YES, Praise God we ARE BOTH HERE to share our Story with others who still suffer……*Catherine* π π
that is such a heart warming story. thanx so much for sharing it with me. I have no kids either and I have that type of relationship! I have “adopted parents and kids of different races and religion” I also have a good friend who had a compulsive gambling addiction. He owed so many people money, lied to all his closest friends, hit rock bottomed and was going to kill himself with a gun. I remember it clearly cos it was christmas eve and we were all looking for him. He had driven to a remote town, like you in a hotel room but somehow changed his mind and reached out to one person. That person got him to rehab and he now shares his story to everyone he meets. I don’t know what you went through. I only know what my friend told me about his experience but I know how I felt when we realised he was missing. Thank god you are both still here to share your stories and to reach out to others.

HAPPY Eid….I have a good friend that has traveled back to his homeland to Celebrate Eid with his family in Pakistan….He calls me his Mom, I call him my “Adopted SON”…..LOL…as we have no kids of our own. I just found your blog through another, and I’m now happily following!
I did finally have a *DREAM* of mine fulfilled as a Published Author at 50 years old!! You have LOADS of time, and JUST WRITE what you in your heart, the words will come π
I wrote my Story of My Life, starting as a little girl, as I went through childhood trauma, Mental health life challenges, a Compulsive addicted gambling addiction, and into Recovery now 6+yrs. What motivated me to write MY STORY??? A newspaper article about a woman who committed Suicide in a Large Indian Casino Hotel room by way of a shot gun!…….I NEEDED to write what I went through so others could have Insight of one of the Fastest, Deadly, addictions currently…….That is why I wrote & shared my Experience. That woman almost was ME.
Thanks for a great Post, God Bless!

Thanx! I think it’s from watching too much cartoons growing up. I just really like line work.

Again I’m impressed by the way your line weight can distinguish the pattern from the plate yet still feel like it’s on the same surface.
